Afghan Coal

Afghan Coal

Afghanistan possesses coal deposits estimated to range between 100 million to 400 million tons, spanning from Badakhshan to Herat Province. These coal reserves are spread across more than 11 locations throughout the country. The coal is characterized by its relatively low ash and sulfur content, with moderate volatile matter and moisture levels. It is exported in various size categories, including 0-50, 5-15, and 10-25, and typically exhibits a calorific value exceeding 6,000 kcal/kg.

Balochistan Quetta Coal

Quetta Coal stands out as a premier coal variety within Pakistan, distinguished by its exceptional calorific content and remarkably low sulfur levels when compared to other coal sources in the country.

The prime extraction sites for top-quality Quetta Coal include PMDC, Paracha-1, Kalat Bangal, Spin Karez, Muree, and several others. Local industries in Pakistan highly favor Quetta Coal due to its superior quality and its ability to generate high levels of steam.

Balochistan Duki Coal

In and around the regions of Chamalang – Bala Dhaka, Lunda, Surghari, Nosham, and Bahlol, located within the Loralai, Barkhan, and Kohlu districts of Balochistan, substantial deposits of high-quality coal with excellent calorific value have been discovered.

KPK Dara Coal

This region boasts abundant high-quality coal and holds the distinction of having the highest extraction rate in Pakistan. Coal forms the core of the local economy, with over 80% of the community actively engaged in coal-related activities. Interestingly, the coal industry is predominantly managed by private individuals, with ownership limited to individuals rather than corporations.

South African Coal

In South Africa, coal is categorized into RB 1 and RB 2, with “RB” denoting Richards Bay coal. This type of coal is notably soft and contains lower sulfur levels. It is highly regarded for steam generation purposes, making it an excellent choice.

The RB classification originates from the globalCoal platform, which was introduced as a commercial tool in 2000. This platform operates over-the-counter (OTC) and is commonly known as an A-grade product in general terms.

Indonesian Coal

Afghan coal

Indonesian coals typically exhibit low levels of ash and sulfur. However, due to their lower rank, they contain a significant amount of volatile matter and moisture. Generally, there is no need for extensive processing of the raw coal, as basic crushing and screening are sufficient to produce a coal product suitable for the market.
